The Community Alliance Party held the first of a series of policy conferences at Havelock House on Sunday 13 July. The conference follows extensive consultation with experts and the wider community. There was lively and informed debate among participants across a wide range of issues of considerable concern to ACT residents, including health, education, and the economy, to the environment, governance, leisure, and public safety. Community Alliance Party members were quick to note the difference from recent ACT Government consultation exercises – the attending candidates and policy committee members were genuinely interested in what people had to say and were keen to translate proposals into policy for future action.
