Born and raised in country Bega, NSW, Jane moved to Canberra to study IT in 1980. Jane worked for Customs for 7 years as a computer programmer where she met Chris, her husband of 22 years. They have one 18 year old daughter, Bethany. President of her daughter's pre-school, primary, high school, and college P&C Associations, Jane has always taken an active interest in her local community. She was nominated for both the Australian of the Year and the ACT Volunteer of the Year in 2005. Currently an active member of Save Our Schools lobby group, Jane believes that community counts. Jane firmly believes in the power of one, and believes that each individual has something of significance to offer to the world around them. Jane thoroughly enjoys standing alongside people in support of their needs, enabling them to have a voice. Jane believes in good governance. She believes in a government of the people, by the people, and for the people with genuine community consultation and participation in decision making. Jane believes in Canberra's future and the need to focus on the issues that impact our daily living - roads, rates'n'rubbish.
