Welcome to www.wccc.com.au Weston Creek News

The Weston Creek Community Council (WCCC) is a forum for residents to convey concerns to government. It is non-party political and lobbies government and bureaucrats for services and facilities for the residents of Weston Creek. It does not provide support services as it was established as a political lobby group and continues that function irrespective of the government of the day. In fulfilling this role the WCCC acts on behalf of residents (or groups of residents) to take issue with the government. In many cases particular residents or groups wish to remain anonymous and the WCCC lobbies on their behalf.

The WCCC holds open public meetings on the 4th Wednesday of the month - see Events for a timetable.

The meetings are held at The Weston Club, Liardet Street, Weston at 7.45pm. We regularly have invited speakers and politicians in attendance.

There are no membership fees for the WCCC and any resident of Weston Creek is able to contact the WCCC to seek assistance or advice. All members of the committee are volunteers and no one receives payment for any activities.

WCCC Submissions in 2007
The last months of 2007 were a busy time for WCCC Committee members as they worked hard to get a number of important submissions lodged with the ACT Government on time. Submissions were prepared for developments in Molonglo and North Weston, the future of the Weston Primary School site and the Rivett School Site, and the bus routes.

2008 is an Election Year!
As part of our continuing program of communicating with our political represantatives, the WCCC has invited Dr. Deb Foskey, MLA to speak at our public meeting on February 27th. While WCCC is a non-political entity, we welcome this opportunity for a two way exchange of information.
